School is about to start!

Pupils then often spend a large part of the day in school again. It is important that parents and teachers pull together and that teachers in particular ensure that they are adequately hydrated.

After all, many children and young people drink too little. The average drinking amount in children is on average below the guidelines recommended by experts.

A sufficient supply of fluids is a prerequisite for health and performance. A lack of water means that the brain is no longer optimally supplied with nutrients. The result is tiredness, a longer reaction time and a reduced ability to concentrate.

Scientific studies show that students absorb new learning content less well after dehydration - for example through sport. Deficits in short-term memory were clearly identified. Pupils then process less information than under normal conditions.

We know that humans are made up of 50 to 80 percent water. Nevertheless, the body cannot form large water reserves. We must therefore constantly compensate for water losses with sufficient liquid intake.

Pupils often do not have enough time to do this during the breaks. They change classrooms, go to the toilet, or are distracted from feeling thirsty by talking to classmates.

And if you really get thirsty as a result, then this is a warning signal that already indicates a fluid deficit. You should therefore not wait for thirst, but rather drink regularly.

Thirst shouldn't arise in the first place.

Drinking water should be promoted by all teachers in everyday school life as a health-promoting and preventive measure. Drinking water should also be fun and easy to do, such as with ours BPA-free and refillable Kavodrink bottles made from Tritan.

By actively encouraging them to drink regularly, our students get used to healthy drinking habits.

It is very likely that they will keep it outside of school and after school.
